My Monte Carlo Resto Website
Welcome to my 70-71 Monte Carlo restoration site. I have created this site to help motivate me to finish my car. The web site is still under construction and so is the car, so please be patient. I also want you to enjoy your visit without the dam popups from my web host. So install a popup killer like the one I have provided and please don't install anything from a popup because it is most likely spy ware. Click here to download the popup killer. I hope you enjoy the site and I will try to update it weekly.
Thanks,
SmokemUp70

Pictures of the Week
Here is my friend Keith's 69 Camaro. It really looks sweet!!!
Here is a Monte Carlo at a Nascar race back in the day. Looks like it was ahead of the pack.
Here are the beauties at the assembly line!

MY Project:
1971 Monte Carlo, 350 motor and trans, 10 bolt rear end.
As you can see it is in working progress. I have rebuilt the engine, front and rear end. It has 350 motor and trans with a 10 bolt rear end. The engine in this car really runs great after rebuilding it. It needs some major/minor body work. Both rear quarter panels have some rust pinholes and need fixing or replacing. The right front fender also needs a patch panel. It was once painted brown but I have removed all the paint and primer it. I had found this to be a mistake and should have left the paint to last. The primer fades and rubs off with time making a mess. This isn't a problem if you sand and coat it over again, which I didn't. Also the interior was just old as dirt. This car needs a lot of work, and I don't mind doing it if I can. My wife thinks I am nuts but oh well.
Here is a list of Items that are already installed in the car..
MSD distributor and Fireball Ignition, Erson 1.5 aluminum roller rockers, Erson tq-30 cam with true roller timing chain, Holley 650cfm carburetor with performer intake, Stock lower end, Terminator- Dual exhaust pipes and mufflers, B&M shift kit with 1500 stall converter, Polyurethane front end, G-tech front sway bar and PST Gold boxed aluminized rear control arms (upper and lower) with polyurethane bushings.
Items I have purchased to put in the car:
1. Whole interior (black) minus the floor carpet.
2. Center console with Hurst shifter.
3. New Cragar Street Stars/w BF Goodrich Racing TA's, z rated.
4. New side view mirrors.
5. Black leather bucket seats. They look like Carrera's but aren't. They are out of a 1986 Conquest TSI.
Check out my restoration pages. They are being updated daily.
